Anti-Flag partners with Amnesty International to debut music video for “This Is The New Sound”

Published on 8 March 2012 by in News

Anti-Flag has partnered with Amnesty international to debut their new video for “This Is The New Sound.” The video takes aim at the National Defense Authorization Act, which many, including the members of Anti-Flag, believe represents a erosion of human rights in the United States.

Anti-Flag explain the inspiration behind the video by saying “The erosion of human rights should always be taken seriously. We wanted to find a creative and clever way to introduce these ideas into the discourse about our new record “The General Strike”. This video is a culmination of that idea, yea, maybe we’ll talk about how funny it is to see puppets beating the hell out of us, but we’ll also discuss the idea that people are being held in prisons without fair trials, and the promise Obama has made to shut down Guantanamo Bay has yet to be fulfilled.”

The video can be viewed on Amnesty International’s YouTube page.

Anti-Flag will be releasing their 8th studio album “The General Strike” on March 20th, 2012. The band is currently on a headlining tour of the East Coast and will be announcing more tour dates in the very near future.
