Annex22 Archives

Anyone remember Annex22? It came in .com and .net forms over the
years and served as a gallery and magazine of sorts covering a variety
of local and national acts and events from 2004-2008. I killed it. I
let Annex22 die a terrible death... just decaying away into nothing
from hatred and neglect. I was burnt out. I often see the death as
when I lost the .com and had to switch to the .net. I could also
speculate that it was when I left the Grand Rapids area for a year or
however long it really was... in any case, in 2009, Flocked Media was
born. It has been a little over a year now since Flocked has been up
and running (more or less). So far we haven't done much with
promotion or local events like we did with Annex22 and our 'Presents'
shows. We haven't been out in the community like Annex22 was.
Surprisingly enough, there is still a damn good national following...

What is my point? I do have one. In the coming months Flocked will
be promoting more, taking a more active role out n' about and doing
whatever we feel. We know how important it is to be local, and this
reminded me of my roots. Of Annex22. So I have been digging around to
see what I could find. I completely have killed off the sites, though
I have managed to keep the .net and buy back the .com. Just because I
can. I am wiser now. Annex22 will always be my baby; Flocked is
fuzzy, but it isn't quite my baby. Again, I ramble. My point: I am
creating a section here on Flocked for some of the highlights of
Annex22 over the years. The interviews, some reviews... eventually
some more photos (for those not on my Facebook). I think they need a
home too. It is kinda sad to think that we once did all that work and
now all these articles have no home. Some are funny to read, even
embarassing. Oh how we have grown... some of us.
