The Veda Rays, Gamma Rays Galaxy Rays Veda Rays – CD Review

The Cover – If I went by the cover of this album I would never have heard The Veda Rays (well, if it weren’t for the fact that I must listen to them in order to review them). It’s boring, and the pea soup green coloring of it makes me nauseous. The Music – However, the music of The Veda Rays is far from nauseating. They have a great

The Real Nasty, Dirty Dollars – CD Review

The Cover – Fitting to the band’s name, this cover sports a dirty man, a trashy woman with her cleavage hanging out, and, of course, money. It’s all about the sleaze and the money, well, the cover is anyway. The Music – The Real Nasty have a kind of blues and rock mix, with some country and even a little oddity mixed in. Their sound is very clean, musically

Chiddy Bang, The Preview – CD Review

Published on 23 February 2011 by in CD, Music

If you need some inspiration to get up and do something, this is a great album to listen to.  It keeps you on your feet and moving… whether it be dancing or cleaning the house.  The Preview, as an album, really isn’t dark or heavy, just good fun. The lyrics quite laughable, albeit poetic.  Some lyrics really make no sense, other than to rhyme, but the genre of rap/hip

Ari Hest, Sunset Over Hope Street – CD Review

Published on 23 February 2011 by in CD, Music

Listening to this album nearly put me to sleep, the tracks are all quite forgettable and the vocals seem unable to achieve a true climactic range.  Just when you feel as though a song will really take off, it comes back down. On first listen. The second time through is when the tracks really start to pop.  The third and all successive listens, even more so.  Ari’s voice, which begins as a

Ancient Astronauts, We Are to Answer

Published on 22 June 2009 by in CD, Music

I have had this album on repeat in my car and elsewhere for the last couple of weeks now. Periodically I switch back to some 60′s on the radio or some other CD’s I need to listen to, but then I throw this back in. My process for review is like this. I listen several times, some thoughts come to me, I start to write them down, I read

Drive A, “Loss of Desire”

Published on 22 June 2009 by in CD, Music

Even a day or two can pass without listening to this album and there is still a faint remnant of a song stuck in my mind. Most prominently so “Loss of Desire”, the title track, does this. After a while, eventually it fades completely and I am onto some different music. Then I find the CD in my car again and the cycle continues. Loss of Desire is the
